This is a basic life policy through Securian and is
provided at no cost to the employee.* The value of this
policy is one times the annual salary rounded up to the
nearest thousand but not exceeding a $125,000.00 value.

*Please note that per IRS rules, life insurance coverage over $50,000 annually is taxed. The exact amount depends on age and can be found on page 15 of 
IRS Publication 15-B.
 

This policy can be converted once an employee leaves
The City. The initial application for portability must be
received by Securian within 31 days.
